Harvest meal brings families together

Last week Youth & Family Services continued the tradition of  serving children in YFS Child Care and Girls Inc. programs and their families a traditional Thanksgiving meal.  It was a great opportunity for families to spend a little bit of time together, and the kids loved that their parents were able to come and eat lunch with them.  Children are always excited when their parents or family members are able to visit their classrooms, and this event has always been a popular one.

While for most children this was a special day where they were able to spend some quality time with their families, for some it will be the only Thanksgiving meal they will receive.  The holidays prove to be a stressful and trying time financially for most families, but they are even more so for families who are already struggling.  Some families simply cannot afford the extra expense.

This Thanksgiving, we at YFS are thankful for all of the wonderful donors and volunteers who help us keep our doors open, help us provide wonderful learning opportunities for all children, and who have helped us create memories for children and families for the last four decades.  Thank you, we are truly grateful to you and privileged to continue offering quality programming for children in our area.
