Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold^SM is the mission of YFS’ Girls Incorporated® of Rapid City. Today, more than 30 Girls Inc. members showed off their boldness by taking center stage down at Main Street Square and surprising onlookers with a flash mob.

The girls had been practicing their choreographed dance to Katy Perry’s song Firework for the last month. As soon as the noon bell rang, the music started and the girls began dancing.

“We picked the song Firework because it talks about living up to your full potential and it really represents the message of being strong, smart and bold which is what Girls Inc. is all about,” stated Corey Wieczorek, the 6^th and up classroom instructor at Girls Inc.

YFS Girls Incorporated serves girls, ages 6-17, and provides fun and exciting educational and recreational activities during the school year and each weekday during the summer.

Girls Inc. programs highlight community action, sports, health, careers and life planning. These programs also celebrate our members’ culture and heritage, and encourage the girls to develop self-reliance and life skills.
