Kids Fair Top 40 Talent Showcase
What's the Kids Casting Call?
Children invited to perform in the Top 40 Talent Showcase will be selected based on their audition at the Kids Casting Call. Forty kids will get the chance to strut their stuff before Kids Fair audiences on April 19, the second day of Kids Fair.
When is the Kids Casting Call?
Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. (Save yourself some time by downloading the registration and release forms below and filling them out before you arrive.)
Who gets to audition?
Any child in kindergarten through the eighth grade.
Where do I audition?
At the YFS facility at 120 E. Adams St. (the grey building across the street from General Beadle Elementary School in Rapid City).
How long do I have to audition?
Each child gets 60 seconds to audition. Children featured in the Top 40 Talent Showcase get up to 2 minutes to perform their routine or piece.
Who's doing the judging?
A panel of local TV and radio personalities.
How much does it cost to audition?
The $5 registration fee includes admission to one day of Kids Fair and other goodies.
Are the judges looking for a particular type of talent?
Maybe it's tumbling or Martial Arts, piano or poetry. Whatever your talent (and so long as it's "family friendly"), YFS wants to celebrate it!
What about special accommodations?
A piano and boom box are available for those who need one.
When will I know if I get to perform in the Top 40 Talent Showcase?
Expect to hear from YFS in early April.
