Nutrition Services
YFS Nutrition Services program provides more than one million meals and snacks each year for children in agency programs such as Girls Incorporated, Child Care and Head Start, and through the agency's sponsorship of the Child & Adult Care Food Program (YFS Family Child Care Nutrition).
In addition, Youth & Family Services opens its doors each summer and provides free breakfast and lunch meals for any child in the community age 18 and younger through the Summer Food Program.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for children enrolled in YFS programs are planned by a registered dietitian. Nutrition education classes are offered for children and their parents.
One of our major activities is the Summer Food Program, providing free meals to children in Rapid City. Read more about the Summer Food Program here.
